Photographer Pieter ten Hoopen, 36 years old, was born in the small town of Tubbergen in the countryside in the eastern region of the Netherlands. After finishing his studies in forestry, Pieter moved to Sweden, where he worked for several years. Twelve years ago, he changed occupations and started studying photojournalism at Nordens Fotoskolan. He became a freelance photographer in 2002 and a member of the Swedish Moment-Agency. In 2008, he became a full member of the Paris-based agency Vu. He works mostly with longer documentations, books and assignments for international and Swedish clients. So far, he has been awarded three prizes in the prestiges World Press Photo and has been chosen three times as Swedens photographer of the year. He was even the first Swedishphotographer to be selected for the World Press Photo master class. Pieter is based in Stockholm and also works at his privately owned country school in Hjo. Over the last years, he has earned a reputation as a highly respected teacher and gives lectures all over the world.
